Dans un futur proche, la terre est devenue un endroit ruiné et hostile. Une révolte est née, mais son leader a été exécuté par les autorités. Son fils, rags, marqué des 13 ombres de la honte est exilé sur la terre où il découvre une prophétie selon laquelle le fils d'un commandant rebelle sauvera le monde. Rags doit maintenant mener ses compagnons orphelins contre une horde de monstres pour retourner sur skyark et y ramener la paix.
